My Saviour

Don't you see?
When he walked upon the water,
He made a statement to his faith,
When he hung upon the cross,
He made a path up to the gate.
When he fed thousands
With two fishes and five loaves.
When he caused all the fish to be caught
By the disciples on the boat,
When he was born to virgin Mary,
Which is where his life began,
To save us from the evil
That Satan brought to man.

Summer Sunset

A rippling breeze
Whispering through the trees.
As the fireflies come out to play
Signaling the end of the day.
The crickets take up the chorus
From which they left off the day before.
The sunset lengthens
As its shadows strengthen,.
The bats who have no longer delay
Come out to hunt their evening prey.
The shadows are longer than a house
An owl swoops down to catch a mouse
The day is gone, but its memory is not
The summer night has begun,
But the moment was caught.

September 11, 2001: A Day to be Remembered

A national disaster occurred this day,
our hearts go out each time we pray,
For those we loved,
And those we lost,
And those who mourn death's bitter frost.

Our nation is shocked,
And it's standing by,
While airplanes are no longer seen in the sky.

The question that's on everyone's mind
Is, who is this enemy
Who leaves destruction behind?

Who is this terrorist
Who committed this cowardly act?
That left part of the country barely intact.

Yesterday morning
We had no thought
That something like this
Could ever be wrought.

This morning,
Because of those kamikaze acts,
The World Trade Center, and the Pentagon
Are no longer intact.

Ireland

Where the mist is fine as silk
And the land is filled with lore
Where the shamrocks grow so quick
With the green upon the moor.

Where the wee folk play their tricks
And the faeries laugh and cry
If you're nimble and you're quick,
You might catch one, if you try.

On the isle where kings once stood
And shouted victory,
Within the hills of Tara,
It's where my heart longs to be.

Dear Mother VI

You are the strongest
Woman I know
No matter what comes
No matter how low.

You Can Do This

You take what comes
Without missing a beat
We never knew what want was
For you climb tall buildings in a single leap.

I can do this
You never seem to need to say
You just know that you can do it
And go upon your way.

No matter what
No matter who
No one can get to yours
Without first going through you.

You are the strength
That gets me through the day
All I have to do is think of you
And I find the strength to say

I Can Do This

Forgotten

Across the Moores of Ireland,
Through the sands of time,
Whispers of the gale and wind,
Telling of forgotten song and rhyme.

The tales and myths of long ago,
Where seasons come and seasons go.

Time moves on,
Like rivers of water to the sea,
But you and I, together we,
Forgotten, we will never be.
